Updated: Oct 20, 2021

Well...I've finally done it!!

It took longer than expected, but I finally got the Youtube Channel up and running. If you've never started a youtube channel before (like me!), there is a lot more to learn than simply picking up your camera or phone, shooting some video, and uploading it to youtube. There is audio, lighting, scripting, shooting, reviewing, re-shooting, editing, adding title & text, creating thumbnails, intros and endscreens. Then, there is writing the description, choosing a title, adding tags, and optimizing it for search. And then finally...YEEHAH!!...publishing live on youtube.

At that point, you get to proudly look at your hours of effort live on the net with ZERO views & ZERO subscribers. So, what are you waiting for??....Click on the links in this blog and check out the first (video) lessons I've uploaded!!

I am of course very happy to have the opportunity to reach a wide audience to share some of the things I've learned in 20 years of teaching. I hope these Youtube lessons can help you on your English language journey.

Learning a language is not easy. It takes time, hard work and effort, and it can also cost a lot of money. We also feel excited, motivated, frustrated, demotivated, and sometimes depressed and angry at ourselves for our lack of progress.

But..hang in there!! Never give up!!

You are not alone in feeling that way. Continue to practice, practice, practice!

When you are having difficulty learning or understanding, sometimes it just takes the right explanation for 'you'. So, watch these lessons, and watch other teachers lessons until you find the explanation that works for you.

Good luck with your studies!

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, let me know.

Take it easy & until next time.

The Personal English Trainer

TRANSCRIPT

Hey there English language learners! Welcome to the channel.

Thank you very much for joining me. So my name is Chris and I am The Personal English Trainer and uh I just wanted to make a short introduction video so that you can get to know a little bit about me.

Right, so, it's a little embarrassing because this is the first video I've ever made but anyway I have been an English teacher in Tokyo, here in japan for 16 years and I have been teaching in total for about 20 years. And during that time I've taught thousands of students and I've also learned how to explain grammar and vocabulary in a way which is very easy for you guys to understand.

Now, listen carefully because this is very important, the best technical explanations are not always the best for you guys, for students. You need to have an explanation which works for you, which is easy for you to understand. Now, every student has their own learning style, and every teacher has their own teaching style, and sometimes they don't match, but when the styles 'do' match you will feel like you have the greatest teacher in the world and learning seems much easier... and more enjoyable.

Okay! So please watch these videos and I really hope they help you... on your language journey. And also watch other teachers videos because you never know when you're going to find that explanation that works for you.

Okay, so what kind of lessons am I going to be making for you? Well, I'm going to focus on 4 areas. I'm going to give you simple grammar explanations to help you with your grammar; I want to teach you vocabulary and idioms; I'm going to help you to build fluency, and give you study advice. Now if you check in the description below you can already find a list of 20 to 30 lessons that I'm planning to upload soon. Now with this introduction video I've already uploaded 5 lessons to kick off the channel. Check them out!! Let me know what you think in the comments section.

Now, before you go you're going to get some homework. Two things: first I want you to smash that like button and hit the subscribe button okay. Second, in the comments down below let me know who you are; where are you from; what are you doing today; but more importantly, why are you studying English? And, what would you like to see in these videos? What do you want to learn? Okay, right, take it easy and I'll catch you in the next video. Bye.
